Pat Powers towers over me in this photograph because he is 6'5" tall. He played for USC from 1978-80 and won a NCAA National Championship in 1980.

As a member of the USA Men's Volleyball National team he helped the program win the "Triple Crown" of volleyball (1984 Olympics, 1985 World Cup and the 1986 World Championships).

Moving onto the beach he won 11 AVP championships and in 1988 won with partner, Karch Kiraly the World Beach Championships.

Turning his focus to coaching he guided his alma mater, USC from 1997-2002. His best season was in 2000 when the Trojans posted a 26-6 record to win the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation title.
